Tropical Storm Isaac brings The Watersports West boys to the beach,
Sunday August 26 at FT. DeSoto park the wind was north east and great.
My 7m Crossbow had to be depowered as the wind created a liquid drag strip.
All of our best kiters from St.Pete, Clearwater, Largo, Tarpon Springs, Tampa, Lutz, Sarasota, Bradenton, Largo, Seminole ,Palm Harbor and Orlando were there.
Then at 12:30 the park ranger stepped in and said the park was closed, and we were to get off the water by 2pm, yet at 1:30 they said time was up and we had to get out as tropical storm warnings were posted.

A bunch of us headed to Lassing park in St. Petersburg, a neat spot that is also great for most easterly winds, up to 20 riders were on the water through the rain and wind, a total blast.
I must commend all riders on their skill and sensible riding as even in these extreme conditions every one was safe in high speed, high flying conditions, there is a great brotherhood on the water among these guys.
